Over the summer of 2017 I worked on two flower stencils on 10x10 canvases using spray paint.
I am enjoying working with my first rose stencil. It is interesting to see what color combinations and textures work well together.
I did the red on black first but found it too dark so I tried one with gray first and then red. I think the image definitely reads better.
I tried the black background with the red & gray line rose and added the green stem and signature.

I have a great assistant when setting up my backgrounds.
I was having issues with spray paint getting under the stencil so I tried weighing down the edges and it has been helping.
The next stencil of a hibiscus flower begins.
Another wet stencil and making progress...
I am enjoying playing with the colors and effects of the spray paint.
