These works were created by drawing and cutting leaf stencils and incorporating Pollock style drip painting.
In these works I enjoyed playing with textures and positive/negative shapes. I hand drew and cut the leaf stencils and then used latex and acrylic paints for a tribute to Jackson Pollock's technique. The canvas is 24x30 inches.
I really love the layers of texture within the lines of the paint. I also added white texture to the negative/positive spaces of the leaves.
These works were on display at the Applegate Inn of Lee in the fall season 2016.
This 12x24 inch canvas currently hangs in my kitchen.
I like these abstracted works using the leftover leaf stencils from the first work.

This was my first time doing a drip/splatter paint technique and I recommend it for anyone to try. It is a lot of fun!
