Pittsfield Dreaming Tree
Pittsfield Dreaming Tree
I am honored to be one of ten chosen local artists to create an artwork on an electric box in the city of Pittsfield, MA.
I didn't get my name on the cover of the paper but at least a pic of my box made it.
My son Declan helped me paint the varnish on for protection.
I enjoyed having a three dimensional surface to create the branches on.
I used the same technique as my winter Dreaming Tree series where I cover the painters tape and background in spray paint and then remove the tape to create the crisp white branches.

For texture I layered three different values of blue spray paint and used a little black.
The painter's tape is complete.
I received mainly positive feedback from passers by in the city. It was a rocky start though, ask me about it sometime.
The first step is setting up the white spaces for the tree...

Thank you to Artscape for giving me an opportunity to put a permanent artwork in a public place. My wife Danielle and I went out to Cafe Adam to celebrate after the reception.
