Nighttime Serenity Series
As Fall set in the Berkshires this year and I found myself using the fire pit in the backyard more I wanted to create a stencil to share that peaceful feeling of serenity I enjoy.

Nighttime Serenity I
I like how the spray paint allowed for a glowing effect for the moon and the embers around the fire.

Nighttime Serenity II
I wanted this piece to show some of the grittiness of this medium that has it roots in street art.

Nighttime Serenity III
Working with stencils gives you the freedom to experiment with different color combinations and keep the same image.

Nighttime Serenity IV
I like this rendition...its like I can feel the heat of the fire against the stark black sky and I think it shows the unique effects of this spray paint medium.

Nighttime Serenity Triptych
These three artworks have been united after a suggestion from a friend. I wouldn't have thought to angle out the sides like this.

I used the door hinges to be able to position the canvases and it was tricky to get them connected where the canvases sit flush against each other and hide the hinge.

Close Up Cutting the Fire Stencil
While cutting these stencils each separate piece became a beautiful abstract shape in and of itself to me.

The tree line stencil was fun to cut and I love the shapes within it.
