Dreaming Tree Series

These works were created by using painter's tape to create the trees and branches, spray paint for color and texture, and then removing the tape to leave the white positive space of the tree.

Dreaming Tree I

On display at Cafe Adam during the Winter season at the beginning of 2017.

The work also made it into the juried UMass Amherst MAEA show.

Pealing off the tape feels exciting to see the branches reveal themselves.

I experimented with different variations while making them for family.

I really like this focusing in on one branch. I tore the tape instead of cutting it for an additional texture.

I layer values of color and play with the density of the spray paint.
